Before we delve into the many benefits of raw poultry bones, it is important to first make the distinction between feeding raw poultry bones and cooked poultry bones. Many of us are familiar with the fact that we should never, ever feed cooked poultry bones to dogs, but do you know the reason behind this warning? First off, let s take a look at some of the characteristics of raw poultry bones:
- They are soft and flexible
- They can be easily crushed, without splintering
- They do not splinter when broken
- They contain naturally occurring moisture and cartilage
When a poultry bone has been exposed to heat through the cooking process, many things change. First of all, the chemical structure of the bone is altered. Water, cartilage, and blood vessel structures are removed and the bone becomes dry and brittle. It is no longer flexible, and without the connective tissues and moisture intact, it will easy snap into small, sharp pieces. It is the dangerously sharp pieces that pose the highest threat to our pets. Not only can the sharp edges puncture the trachea, intestines, and bowels, but they are no longer digestible and will stay intact through the digestion process, increasing the risk of damage to the pet. It is very important to monitor our pets (especially those scavenging dogs!) to make sure they do not have access to cooked poultry bones.
Raw poultry bones are not only safe for our pets to eat, but they offer many additional nutritional benefits to a pet s diet, such as:

- Calcium, phosphorous, and other trace minerals

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If for some reason you are not, we accept returns on most unopened items with tags and a receipt within 30 days of purchase.

Online Purchases:
We want you to be happy with your purchase. If for some reason you are not, we accept returns on most unopened items with tags and a copy of your order confirmation email within 30 days of purchase.
The simplest and fastest way to return an item(s) is to take it to your local Paw Naturals store along with a copy of your order confirmation email. NOTE: Our store associates are unable to process a return without a copy of your order confirmation email. If you no longer have this email, please contact us and our customer service representatives will be able to send you a copy of your original email.
If you do not live close to a store, please fill our our Online Order Return Form and our customer service representatives will be happy to assist you with mail-in returns.
Refunds for Online Purchases:
For return eligible unopened items with tags, refunds will be made in the original form of payment. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing after we have received your return.
All shipping costs are final and will not be refunded.
Special Return Guidelines:
We are unable to take back returns for the following items if they have been opened:
- Treats- Bones
- Chews
- Canned Food
- Supplements
- ALL OPENED OR UNOPEND FROZEN ITEMS
We do understand that occasionally, you will be unhappy with products after opening them. These returns will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for store credit only.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept mail-in returns for any opened items or frozen items.
Cancellations:
Our fulfillment centers strive to get your shipments to you as soon as possible. This means that we cannot cancel orders once they have been shipped.
However, we want you to be happy with your purchase and accept returns on most unopened items with tags within 30 days of purchase as stated above.
